Why your business doesn't show up on Google

5 September 2026 5 minute read Sites by Vital

If you have searched your own business name and found nothing, you are not imagining it. There are usually three reasons, and two of them are free to fix.

Reason one: there is nothing for Google to find

Google shows web pages. If your business has no website, there is no page about you to show, and a Facebook Page is only partly a substitute. It can appear, but it competes with every other Page and it rarely carries the details a searcher wants.

This is the expensive fix, but it is also the one that solves the other problems at the same time.

Reason two: your Google Business Profile is missing or wrong

This is the free one, and it is the one most businesses in Pampanga are leaving on the table. Your Business Profile is what produces the box on the right of a search, with your map pin, hours, photos, and reviews. It is separate from a website and you can claim it yourself today.

Go to google.com/business, search your business name, and claim it. Then fix the four things that are almost always wrong:

  • Opening hours, including holidays
  • The category, which should be what you actually are, not something broader
  • Photos, because profiles with recent photos get looked at more
  • Replies to reviews, including the bad ones, politely

Reason three: you use different words than your customers

Businesses describe themselves the way the industry does. Customers search the way normal people talk. A laboratory writes "clinical chemistry services" while the patient types "blood test near me". A supplier writes "construction materials trading" while the customer types "hollow blocks San Fernando".

The fix is not tricking Google. It is writing your pages using the words your customers actually say, which you already know because they say them to you every day.

How long it takes

Being honest about this matters more than being encouraging. For your own business name, expect two to four weeks after a site goes live. For broader searches like your trade plus your town, expect two to four months, and it depends entirely on how many competitors are doing the same thing.

A trade with three competitors in your municipality moves quickly. One with thirty takes much longer. Anyone promising page one in a month for a competitive term is either guessing or selling.

What to do this week

  1. Search your business name on your phone and screenshot what you see
  2. Claim and fix your Google Business Profile. It costs nothing
  3. Write down the five phrases customers actually use when they call you
  4. Decide whether a website is worth it for you. If you want a number, ours are on the pricing page

Not sure yet? Ask anyway. The quote is free.

Tell us what your business does and who your customers are. You'll get a total price for your business, a list of exactly what's included, and the date your site goes live. If you decide it isn't for you, that's completely fine, and you owe nothing.
